In the 1970s, England was facing an identity crisis, as it reconsidered its relationship with South Africa.
Working with South Africa, England had barred a black tennis player from competing at Wimbledon.
But then the Anti-Apartheid Movement targeted banks, companies, and individuals in England.
England was about to turn its back on South Africa.
Wimbledon was a symbol of exclusion, but now the tennis tournament would work the opposite way.
Wimbledon was always more than a tennis tournament because it represents the image of England.
This involves strawberries and cream, well-mannered fans, and players wearing tennis whites, as they bow or curtsy to the head of the royal family.
Now, the symbol would be used to welcome blacks, as England would distance itself from South Africa.
To do this, they fixed the tournament, using the immature idiot, Jimmy Connors, whom they either blackmailed or they simply mind-controlled.
British Military Intelligence has a long history of doing this sort of thing, so it would have been easy to manipulate the boy from Illinois.
The Central Intelligence Agency has a long history of doing this sort of thing, so it would have been easy to manipulate their fellow Catholic.
Both of these players connect to the Playboy Mansion, where Jimmy Connors met, so he later married, a Playmate of the Year.
Jimmy Connors had mind control written all over him, so he was always doing impulsive things that he thought were his own idea.
Jimmy Connors became engaged to a woman player, Chrissy Evert, and they were called the Love Birds, or the Love Couple, after they each won their singles championship at Wimbledon.
But, then, immediately before the next year’s tournament, Jimmy Connors broke up with Chrissy Evert, and he showed up, with another woman, to watch her play Billie Jean King.
This destroyed Chrissy Evert’s concentration, so after winning the first set, 6-2, she lost the next two sets, 2-6, and then 3-6.
Chrissy Evert later described the match, in which she was surprisingly upset, as affected by Jimmy Connors.
“I don’t think actually [Jimmy Connors] appreciates me mentioning this, but I will anyway, since I opened my big mouth about it. But I was playing Billie Jean and I was up in the third, and at that time, we were going through, you know, we were sort of very, very rocky. I think we were breaking up actually. But I still had a lot of feelings for him, and I think I looked up and saw Jimmy with another girl.
“I can’t believe I said this in public but I was, it was probably one of my more open moments, when I was very revealing, and I just said it just really bothered me, and I think that people thought that I was such a machine out there, that I had no emotion, but in essence a lot of things in my emotional life affected my tennis and that was one of them.
“I just saw him up in the stands with another woman and it sort of threw me off a little bit, and I think I double-faulted and it was my own fault, you know, I wasn’t concentrating.”
Jimmy Connors’ selfish actions, as he undermined his former lover, delivered the match to the underdog, Billie Jean King, so she went on to win the finals, for her last title, against an aboriginal woman named Evonne Goolagong.
And so England changed its image, through the manipulation of players, chosen for their racial and sexual identities, on a symbolic staging ground, as a black played a lesbian on the Centre Court of Wimbledon.
And this was relayed to millions of viewers through the television under the auspices of the British Broadcasting Company.
All that was left was for Jimmy Connors, who had won all three grand slams the previous year, so he was the number one seed and defending champion, to lose his match to another black underdog.
Arthur Ashe was number six, and sure to lose, but he won to become a symbol for his fellow blacks, for the tennis tournament, and for England’s rejection of South Africa.
It was thanks to Jimmy Connors.
